World Book Day is a worldwide celebration of books and reading. In this, the 21st year, we will be marking Windsor Castle's unique contribution to the world of books on 2-3 March. Over two days some of the finest books in the Royal Library will be displayed throughout the State Apartments.

Admire exquisite illuminated manuscripts together with books owned by Henry VIII and Charles I. Meet the librarians as well as specialists and apprentices from the bindery who are preserving the ancient craft of hand-bookbinding for future generations.

On Friday, 2 March rare books and manuscripts from the library of the Dean and Canons of Windsor will be on display in St George's Chapel.

On Saturday, 3 March bring your children along to listen to special stories in the State Apartments with our storyteller, Olivia Armstrong, and come dressed as your favourite book character to claim a memento.
