Whether hunting for Easter eggs in a royal Palace, learning how to harness a horse at the world's finest working stables, or dressing up in fabulous royal fashions at a thousand-year-old Castle, children can enjoy a host of fun activities this Easter at the official residences of Her Majesty The Queen.

The Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace

Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, 31 March, 11:00–15:00

At the Royal Mews, Rex the corgi and the royal horses Majesty and Scout have been up to no good, hiding pictures of themselves amongst the carriages for children to find. During their quest, children will be able to dress up as a footman in specially created livery, learn how to harness a horse, enjoy art activities and find out what it really feels like to ride in a royal carriage, before claiming a delicious Easter egg to take home.

The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace

Touch, Feel and Make, Wednesday, 4 April, 11:00–16:00

Families with additional learning needs are invited to join multisensory tours of the exhibition Charles II: Art & Power, which will bring the sumptuous court of Charles II to vivid life.  After exploring the exhibition and taking inspiration from the beautiful works of art on display, children can have a go at creating their own masterpieces during arts-and-crafts workshops.

Family Weekend: The Art of the Restoration Court, Thursday, 5 April – Sunday, 8 April, 11:00–15:30

Young visitors can immerse themselves in the extravagant art, music and fashion of Charles II's court during this special family weekend at The Queen's Gallery.  Family activity bags will help children to discover the hidden stories behind the art in the exhibition Charles II: Art & Power, while workshops will give children the chance to create their own coronation music for the King, learn the silly songs of the Restoration court, and print their own personalised playing cards.

Windsor Castle

Fabulous Fashions, Tuesday, 3 April – Saturday, 28 April, 11:00–16:00

This April at Windsor Castle, children can learn about 300 years of fabulous royal fashions, with activity trails and arts-and-crafts workshops available every Saturday and during the Easter holidays (3–15 April).  On 4–6 and 11–13 April, children can have fun dressing up in beautiful replica royal costumes in the magnificent State Apartments while enjoying live period music.

Palace of Holyroodhouse

Easter Egg Hunt, Sunday, 1 April, 11:00–15:00

On Easter Sunday, families are invited to take part in the annual Easter egg hunt at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.  After hunting for eggs throughout the State Apartments, families can relax in the spectacular Great Gallery and listen to tales of how the eggs found their way to the Palace, before heading to the Family Room to make and decorate their own Easter basket to take home.

All activities are included in the price of admission to the Royal Mews and The Queen's Gallery in London, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.
